"I was about to make a painting of Nubble Light near York (Maine) when a friend told me of a family who purchased local art for use in their holiday cards.   However, there were some interesting requirements that a painting had to include:  snow, some holiday decorations, a lighthouse, and a red lobster boat.  I took this as an interesting challenge and this was my resulting painting which emphasized the isolated starkness and beauty of Maine in the wintertime.  My painting was considered, but not selected, because that family preferred a more jovial holiday shopping theme.
