HV21:  Ichabod Goodwin House {Ancestor}

HV-320x240x300dpi_21-Ichabod-Goodwin-House

"In 1690 my 7th great-grandmother, Mehitable Plaisted Goodwin, was captured by Indians and sold into slavery in Montreal.  Five years later a new treaty allowed her and some other captives to return home to South Berwick (Maine) where she was reunited with her husband.  Their son, Ichabod, my 6th great-grandfather, was born in 1700 and built this center-chimney house in about 1742 on land the family had occupied since 1636.

The image used for printing is from a high-resolution scan of the original oil painting that I created on a 11" x 14"  linen-covered wooden panel in 2023."   -- Henry Vaughan
