"Kayaking is popular in Maine due to the state's numerous inland lakes and protected seacoast inlets. Moosehead Lake located in Northern Maine is one of the state's largest lakes and near to moose country. A large landmark on the edge of the lake is Mount Kineo, a famous source of rhyolite, a flint-like rock highly valued for centuies by indigenous peoples and used for trading and tool-making."
