HV41: Fort Edgecomb Protects Wiscasset
"In preparation for the War of 1812, Congress authorized a blockhouse fort to be built to protect the colonial port of Wiscasset from attacks by England. While it never was attacked, it was used as a jail to hold English sailors captured by American privateers during that war. Today it is a Maine State Park.
