"Looking for a slightly different subject, I came across a newspaper article about Scarborough Marsh.  I then searched and found several interesting photographs online.   Later when I was about half done with this painting, I thought of the idea of adding a small image of some appropriate wildlife.  For this painting I added an egret flying low over the marsh --  but this also became the first painting in a new "Widllife Series".
