HV06: Spring Has Arrived
"In 1977 I embarked on a whole new career in the fledgling microcomputer industry and no longer had time to do oil painting -- thus leaving this painting of a maple tree tapping only half-finished. The unfinished and unprotected painting subsequently was moved around the country for over forty years but miraculously did survive.
Forty four years later, in 2021, I began trying to paint again. Before attempting to finish this painting, however, I did the four "Re-Start" paintings first to try to regain my skills. In 2022, I finally finished this painting.
The image used for printing is from a high-resolution scan of the original oil painting that I began creating on a 16" x 20" canvas-covered cardboard panel in 1977 and finished in 2025." -- Henry Vaughan
